College Student Retention
It is all about the student. ProRetention™ Student Portal (SEP) is the virtual space where all student activities are available for future reference. And this is where students and university staff meet and get to know each other better.

Profile Update: Students can update their personal information at the Portal. Thanks to this this inbuilt flexibility students and staff alike can ensure that personal data in the system is up to date.
Contact preference: The Portal provides students the facility to update their preferred mode of contact. Students can opt to be contacted exclusively by phone or email and even set preferences time of contact etc.
Lifecycle Information: The Portal serves as a significant source of information for students. The portal gives students access to lifecycle information that includes transcripts information, fees and financial aid, academic progress, attendance, holds etc.
Problem Ticket: Students can use the Portal to raise problem tickets and track them. They can do this at any time of the day. Tickets will be sorted by the helpdesk (RSD) and distributed to the appropriate department.
Announcements : The announcements-feature of the Portal is an important aspect that the university can use to display news items. It is also a boon to students who can subscribe for RSS feeds of announcements which they will then receive even without logging into the portal.
Articles: The Portal can also be used by students and the university alike as a medium to express their views. Both can use the portal to publish articles and in the process reach a relatively wide audience.
Events and Calendar : The University can use the Portal to post a calendar of upcoming events in chronological order. Important dates such as class start dates, program events, etc can be part of the calendar, helping students to be aware of important dates. In addition to this, events may have links to additional information and these links can be set to automatically expire on a particular date, or be reset within a specified period. RSVPs to college events can be sent through the Portal.
Forum: The Portal serves as a forum giving students an opportunity to initiate discussions on matters related to academics and general concerns. The Portal additionally provides features such as email notifications. It offers administrators the ability to start new threads, reply to threads, pin threads, lock threads, moderate threads, add attachments, or simply view a forum's content.
Another advantage of PR could be increasing the loyalty factor to the university. Since the student has a portal that is a one stop shop for all their needs and concerns and moreover serves pretty much as an internal Facebook for social purposes, it can increase student loyalty to the college thereby increasing retention.

Future Plans : This will become a student-university community site in course of time. Once this happens students can create their own pages to reflect their interests, activities and friends. Within the portal, students can create their own space. The enhanced site will allow students to blog; upload photos and images with links to their pages. It would also enable students to post comments and quick notes.
Improved College Retention : The student portal could also act as a medium for students to communicate key issues with the staff. There by it contributes to the student retention software system and helps the staff to improve the student retention rate.
